Hotel Review: By Hotel, Morroco

When we pulled up at the By Hotel, it was on a back street with building works taking place on the building next to it. There is a metal detector placed at the entrance so when you walk in or out it goes off like you’ve stolen from a shop. The reception desk is on the right once you walk in, Laurie and I checked in easily and then we went up to our room. The lift was quite small but honestly, we’ve been in lifts much smaller and had times where we’ve had to struggle up stairs. The room was cheap £33 for a double room per night, and we were impressed. We had two double beds, with a separate shower/bathroom, and a large window overlooking the street where we entered.

After coming from the airport and checking in we didn’t initially stay in the room for a long time, we dropped off our suitcases, choose our beds, went and explored Guerliz and got some food. We then wanted to find somewhere where we could relax and drink, but we couldn’t find anywhere by ourselves. So we ran back to the hotel and the receptionist kindly directed us to Monte Cristo. After we had satisfied all our senses we went back to the hotel and had a nice relaxing sleep.

In the morning I showered first and everything was alright. But then when Laurie showered the room accidently flooded. EEEK. We then went down for breakfast and it was absolutely wonderful. If you are looking for a cheap hotel in Guerliz then we recommend going to the By Hotel. It was a cheap pleasure. We left this hotel after one night to go to Riad Alkaderi right in the centre of the medina.
